WP Credits Project

WPCredits is an academic project focused on learning about the WordPress ecosystem through real contributions to its community. The project allows students to explore different contribution areas, develop technical and collaborative skills, and document their progress throughout the academic term.

My Contribution Area

For this project, I selected the Polyglots team, which focuses on translating and localizing WordPress into different languages.

I chose this area because I am interested in understanding how digital platforms are adapted to different languages and cultural contexts. I also want to learn more about translation guidelines, terminology consistency, and the tools used by the WordPress community.

Expected Scope

During the academic term, I expect to complete the WordPress onboarding process, become familiar with the tools used by my selected contribution team, make meaningful contributions, and document the results in this portfolio.

I also expect to improve my technical communication, problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Main Objectives

  • Complete the WordPress contributor onboarding process.
  • Learn how my selected contribution team works.
  • Make and document real contributions.
  • Identify challenges and possible solutions.
  • Reflect on my learning and progress.
